Florestral is where the Forest touches the Astral, where our dreams can be woven into reality

Florestral is a land of beauty and magic, full of pure life and speaking to those ready to listen. Located in the Southern Pacific mountainous zone of Costa Rica. Gently rolling down the elongated-bowl-shaped valley below the steep Tinamaste Ridge, the gorgeous Diamante-waterfall shimmering in the distance, this stretch of land offers privacy and is full of nature’s music since there is no traffic noise or neighbours nearby. It has easy accessability both to the city of San Isidro, with all amenities, necessary supplies, medical care etc. only a 25 min. drive away and as well as the beautiful Pacific coastline with stunning beaches only 40 min away.

This land has it’s own supply of spring water, as well as a combination of solar power and grid electrical connectivity to supply all our electric needs.

A unique treasure is the Diamante river that runs all along the lower part of the land, with numerous swimming and dip-in pools, massage waterfalls, and rock-elevated meditation or relaxation spots. Above the river, stands a beautiful forest, securing rich, lush, green views from our side of the hill. 

The Land was originally envisioned as serving two main functions; privately owned lots with communal land in between and the hosting center.

Florestral came into being in 2013, originally as a 8 hectare land. In 2022 Florestral expanded its blessings as new community members joined and acquired the neighboring land, of 50 additional hectares. The neighboring land had its forest removed some 30 years ago for the purpose of agriculture and then became a teak plantation. Part of the beauty of the Florestral Expansion is to rejuvenate the land through reforestation of areas not intended for homes.

There are now 45 private lots, distributed between 5 neighborhoods. These lots are owned privately by core community members with green strips of 10 meter in between the lots within each neighborhood. Many private homes are already built on these lots.

With so much extra space and new activated community members, the potentiality for new developments are intended for the near future. Creative developments for the benefit of the community, such as a village center, playgrounds and parks, agricultural spaces and a silent forest.

The SOL Hosting Center has been built upon 1,5 hectares of the communal land. It includes a Temple space for group work,12 guest cabins, toilets/shower quarters, a large dining and kitchen area, and a sweatlodge.

The Hosting Center was established as the initial Gateway to the Forest, created by the Sound of Light family, and is now being made available to host a variety of retreats.
